Have you been to the Michigan Eagles Family Recreation Center, (MEFRC)?

They're located at 11425 W Ludington Dr, Lake Michigan 48632
Phone:  989-544-2421
Fax:  989-544-2535

It's a nice drive north about two hours from our club just outside of Clare.

They offer year round accommodations for camping, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, fishing, and touring fall colors.  They have a nice club room, and restaurant if you just want to take a day trip to check them out.

If you are a member of MEFRC (the Aerie membership fee is $15.00, the Auxiliary membership fee is $10.00 per year), you can camp for $13.00 a night for the first two people and an additional $1.00 for each person (over the age of 12).

If you are not a member of the MEFRC, the cost is $16.00 a night for the first two people and an additional $1.00 for each person (over the age of 12).

If you really want to rough it in a tent in the "HOBO" area it is $10.00 a night.

If you want to take a room instead, the membership rate is $10.00 per person, per night and $14.00 per person, per night.

They're currently repairing the in-ground pool.  It should be done in the next few weeks.

The food is reasonable and very good.  The staff is friendly and fun.

Take a day trip and check them out.

Hi Again my fellow brothers and sisters.

Summer is finally upon us once again and we have allot going on. Some of which include the eagle riders rodeo at the Heights eagles camp ground July 24, our famous pig roast open to all July 31, our annual golf outing held at the Ravenna golf course August 7, there are both a coed and men's division, and this one looks to be our best one yet. So come down and get signed up. We also have a Fire ring out back for anyone interested in sitting around the camp fire and enjoying a few adult beverages, maybe we could even get some campfire sing along one night each week. There is the horse shoe tournaments held every Thursday evening. Our eagle rides group has a meeting once a month and then they go for a ride.

I just got back from the eagles state convention, what a great time talking with fellow eagle members from across the state. It seems that everyone one that I talked to that has ever ventured into our club tells me that they had a great time, and our members are very fun to be around.

We also won some awards. We took number one in the state for giving blood, Thanks to everyone that put in their time to get us there for the second year in a row. We took number two in the state for number of new members. Grand Haven beat us out again. We will just have to step it up a notch on recruiting new members. For anyone not aware there is cash awards given out for the top member sign up's each year, and they pay several places, our own Tony Clark won a some cash for signing up members this year!

Before I forget we will be celebrating our 35th anniversary at the end of this year, and we would like to have a party probably in January.

In closing I would like to thank each and every one of my brothers and sisters from the bottom of my heart, who have taken time out of your busy schedules to volunteer for the various events to help our club be the best that it can be, and if you have not taken time to help out we are always looking for more help to keep all of our events rolling!!

If you have any suggestions for things to make us better please let one of your officers know, we are always looking to improve.
